Classic Movie Locations
Do you ever wonder where your favourite films were shot? Perhaps you’ve walked right past one!
Here are a few that are not to be missed:
Breakfast At Tiffanys, New York City, United States
Any New York resident could point you toward the famous Tiffanys jewelry store on 57th Street and Fifth Avenue, but did you know that Holly Golightly’s apartment is located at 169 East 71st Street?
The Sound of Music, Salzberg, Austria
Although there are Sound of Music locales all around Salzberg, Austria, the most intimate is the gazebo in which Liesl and Rolfe first meet, and sing the duet “Sixteen Going on Seventeen.”
Bullitt, San Fransisco, United States
Although the famous car chase scene in the American classic, Bullitt is located throughout San Francisco, the height of the excitement takes place on Fillmore Street, between Broadway and Vallejo Street. We’re also proud to say that the lobby of our very own Mark Hopkins Hotel, home of the InterContinental San Francisco, was a part of that film also.
Last Tango in Paris , Paris, France
Between the 15th and 16th arrondissements of the Pont de Bir-Hakeim in Paris, you’ll find the spot where Paul (Marlon Brando) meets Jeanne (Maria Schneider).
