Cozumel: What to Do

Far from the yearly Spring Break student revelry, November is a wonderful time to spend a long weekend’s getaway in Cozumel, Mexico. Here are a few ways to enjoy this beachfront idyll:

Mexican Revolution Day
On November 20th, do as the locals do. Stop by the parade to see the city’s children performing, sample some great food, and hear lively music. The parade follows the malecon, or beach side boardwalk, and ends in front of City Hall.

La Cocay Restaurant
A blend of Mediterranean, Mexican, and Caribbean flavours is what gives La Cocay its flair. This open air dining room is enhanced by the flickering of fireflies on clear evenings. Be sure to try the pork tenderloin in apple brandy sauce.

Shopping at Cinco Soles
Although a bit for the tourists, Cinco Soles is a great way to gather your souvenirs in one-stop shopping experience. From apparel to jewelry, and furniture to toys, you’ll find something for everyone.

Chankannab Park
Especially great for those travelling with children, Chankannab Park features the all the natural beauty of Cozumel in one 9 km preserve. Visit the lagoon, swim with dolphins, or enjoy an afternoon of hiking or snorkeling.
